So far, the Canucks have cut 4 kids from the prospects roster:

Maillet hails from the QMJHL while the other 3 from the WHL.

John Tortorella hates Twitter. To quote him from this Province article:

"It’s the most narcissistic thing I’ve ever seen. I’m not going to handcuff them and treat them like little kids. There’d better be no information come out of the locker room with that damn Twitter. It’s nothing but trouble to me. But I also respect that social media and all that stuff is part of it and I need to respect that and I’m going to try.

But our locker room is our locker room, and I believe our guys understand that. I just hope they respect the sanctity of the locker room — that’s the most important thing to me. I think it (Twitter) is stupid, but it’s tremendous for charity work, and our dog walk in New York raised a ton of money. But not for: ‘Here I am having a roast beef sandwich and saying hello to my fans.’ That’s just ridiculous."

Torts ran into trouble with Sean Avery over Twitter before. It wasn't pretty. But it was Sean Avery. Enough said. As for that last sentence in his quote though, I know several players won't quite agree with that. I'll go on record and say that I pretty agree with everything Torts said though.

We know that Tortorella is good with the kids, and he had already talked to Zack Kassian before training camp. He wants Kassian to be a big part of the team. By the looks of it, The Kassassin is going to get time with the Sedins in camp and in preseason. By early accounts, it appears Tortorella is a far more patient coach than Alain Vigneault.

The flavor of the week / month is how will Ryan Kesler and John Tortorella get along? How long until the megapowers explode? Ugh. As long as Kesler improves and stays a lot more healthy than he has been I really don't give a rat's ass about how well they get along.  It actually wouldn't surprise me if they are a bit volatile but it will work for the KesLord.

So much drama.

David Booth, who has been out with an ankle injury for seemingly and eternity (March 16), is not ready to skate yet. He is being called day to day by the Canucks coach and Mike Gillis.

Canucks' Media Availability Today:

Helen St. James is a well-known sports writer for the Detroit Free Press. What she is hearing:

Brunner, a smaller, yet effective Swiss center, is probably asking for too much money.

Finally, a gold and bold quote from Ryan Kesler:

"All those doubters out there, we are going to make them eat their words."
