The Canucks announced today that they have re-signed RFA defenceman Chris Tanev to a 1-year, $1.5 million deal. They also brought back UFA Andrew Alberts to the tune of a 1-year, $600,000 deal.
I like both deals, mostly. I projected a bit less dollars for Tanev. I like the team giving Alberts another shot here as well. I thought he played good hockey last season.
This season: every time Tanev gets hit along the boards and falls down: DRINK!
The Canucks' depth on defence looks pretty good:
Bieksa - Hamhuis
Edler - Garrison
Tanev - Corrado / Alberts / Weber
A few weeks ago we had a "Guess Tanev's Contract" Contest. Nobody guessed exactly correctly. However the person who guessed the closest without going over was Vancouverguy, who guessed a 1-year, $1.5 million contract. Well done! You win the prize!
