According to Hockeyexpressen, the Canucks' 2nd round pick in 2009 has signed a 2-year contract to play once again for Brynas of the Swedish Elite League. The 22 year old Rodin played his last 2 seasons for the Chicago Wolves, scoring 14 goals and 27 assists in 111 games. He was a collective -16. Rodin's $900,000 entry level contract with the Canucks expires July 1st.
Rodin told Hockeyexpressen that Brynas feels like a better fit for him than Chicago (AHL).
I guess this means that the Canucks will not be renewing his contract this summer.
By the looks of it, Rodin was not getting a lot of ice time in Chicago. If there are any Wolves fans out there who want to chime in in the comments section, please do so. I don't see time on ice stats on the AHL website.
