Canucks recall Derek Joslin

New, comments

Perhaps it's not a good sign in terms of the severity of the injury to Kevin Bieksa, and it says a lot about the game Cam Barker had last night.

The Canucks announced this morning that they have recalled defenceman Derek Joslin from the Worchester Sharks of the AHL. Signed as a free agent in the summer of 2012, the 6'1" 210 lb Joslin has 4 goals and 11 assists to go with 47 penalty minutes this season between the Chicago Wolves and Worchester. No word yet if he'll be in the lineup tomorrow night as the Canucks take on Dallas as they play the 5th and final game of this road trip. Mike Gillis also announced that he's in New York working with the NHL on a plan to relocate the Peoria Rivermen of the AHL, who will be the Canucks minor-league affiliate next season. We'll keep an eye on this situation as it develops. There was also some good news, as Assistant GM Lawrence Gilman told Team 1040 today he is hopeful Chris Higgins and Chris Tanev will be back in the lineup for the first round of the playoffs.
