Keep in mind that the rankings occurred before the Canucks-Sharks facepalm game.
What They're Saying
It's an uphill fight for the Canucks when they lose C Ryan Kesler after he plays only seven games, and with three wins in the last nine games, they could use a little positive momentum.

Consider this more a correction to an admittedly harsh ranking last week than anything else, because the Canucks certainly don't deserve to move up after losing to Calgary ... They just aren't clicking and are only up two points in the division.
The Canucks' disappointing loss in Calgary marked the fifth straight game without a power-play goal. They have lost three of four and have seen their lead in the Northwest dwindle to two points.
Ryan Kessler’s return lasted all of two weeks. After finally coming back from shoulder surgery, Kessler is now out an extended period with a broken foot suffered last Tuesday. It’ll be interesting to see if the Canucks can thrive again without him.
Not a great week for the Canucks but, then again, not a great week for many top teams. Canucks are 6-1-1 against weak Northwest, 5-5-3 against the rest of the West.
It's been a rough run of late for the Canucks. They've dropped six of nine and three of four, and played Sunday after arriving in Calgary just a few hours before puck drop because of weather issues in Vancouver. The Canucks lead the Northwest, but only six points separate them from last-place Edmonton.
Not gonna get any consistency in the win column with a shitty-assed power play. At least Kesler would shoot the puck on the man advantage. This group minus KesLord over passes and tries to get too pretty.
Too many question marks up front right now, in Booth and Kassian especially but at least the Sedins have some backup with the Raymond-Hansen line.
Is it really time to panic / Booth vs Bust / Why we won't win the cup with our "system" / Is it time to give up on this season?
Ed. Note: Good times at CDC! Of course, I am just picking out the worst topics but why the hell not? It's funny.
