Stats are from prior to completion of games on March 27.
As I am writing this, the basement-dwelling Avalanche are losing 4-2 to the Iginla-less Calgary Flames in the 3rd period lost 4-3 to the Iginla-less Calgary Flames. If you are thinking that the Avs may be fatigued because this will be their second game in as many nights...THINK AGAIN! The Avs have only played 2 games this week, including a 3-2 loss to our very own Vancouver Canucks on Sunday.
If the the Canucks score 7 goals in 5 games and lose most of those games, we / I scream for the coach to be fired. But when they score 10 goals in 5 games and win all of those games, the coach is a hero. Alain Vigneault has the guys playing strict defence lately and I love it. Especially after watching the shit defence earlier in the shortened season. But the issues still remain. That's not enough goals for. The team is shallow up front, mostly, and the power play is still toast. As much as I love the winning streak, those issues need to be remedied or this team is not going anywhere in the playoffs.
Cory Schneider will start AGAIN. Yes, he deserves the starts he's getting but I am also wondering if there is a potential trade in the works for Roberto Luongo. I mean, when does AV ever ride a goalie this long? His attention span is never this long, is it?
-The Avs are a lousy 2-11-3 on the road this season. The Canucks gotta take this one.
-So...how about that rat race for first in the Northwest, hey?
-How about them Ducks? Totally catch-able now.
PROJECTED ROSTERS
The Canucks here. Steve Pinizzotto is getting close to returning. Dale Weise will miss 2-4 weeks with a shoulder injury.

SCORE-PREDICTING WIZARDS UPDATE
Nobody picked a 1-0 score for last game and nobody picked Maxim Lapierre to score the winner. That is not surprising, actually.
VIDEO
Whenever you find yourself starting to feel bad about the Avalanche's woes, DON'T. Here are a few reasons why:
Poor Beezer. Played his fucking heart out.
Another reason:
Joe Sakic..all class. Really bad with snow blowers though.
Speaking of the Avs, check out the goal Niklas Jensen scored in the shootout on Wednesday night:
"Forsbergian" indeed!
The title of this game preview post has been brought to you, once again, by Soundgarden, because the Canucks keep winning:
Another one of my fave Soundgarden songs.
CRANK IT!
