Rival territory: Five For Howling
Last game's effort was an improvement, although not perfect. It was great to see Daniel Sedin actually score a goal for the first time in several games, and watching Dale Weise do the same was awesome. The 3rd period fell apart, but they hung on long enough to win against St Louis.
Now the Canucks hit the road, and find themselves in another injury pickle. We have Zack Kassian with a sore back, Tom Sestito limping, Steve Pinizzotto not feeling well, and Chris Higgins leaving practice with a sore back. Andrew Ebbett is supposed to slot in, Andrew Gordon got called up from Chicago, and AV told the press today that a defenseman may play the 12th forward tonight. (Update: Sounds like Keith Ballard will be on the 3rd line.) Oh dear lord, this is getting silly.
Tonight, Vancouver visits Phoenix to play the Coyotes, a team that has just been shut out 3 games in a row, breaking that streak the other night with 2 goals against LA. Considering the way Vancouver likes to play against their opponents, that's just asking for trouble.
Let's see how this turns out. Coconuts go!
Tonight's gamethread title is inspired by a song I thought was done by the very silly Monty Python troupe, but was actually done by many other people, most famously Merv Griffin. Oh well, Lion King made it fun for the new generation:
