Canucks Power Rankings Via The MSM: October 30, 2013

Just a little something I am bringing back from last season. Enjoy!

Keep in mind that most of these are a few days behind, as most sites release their weekly power rankings on different dates.

Outlet Rank Last Week What They're Saying
7 11

No regulation wins in five road games since Buffalo, but the points are piling up with a 3-1-1 record in those five games. At some point, though, they're going to need more than the Sedins and Ryan Kesler to get going offensively.
Key Injuries: RW Jannik Hansen (upper body).

Zanstorm:: The Canucks finished 5-1-1 on that trip and yes, they will need more scoring from other sources.

The Canucks finish a 5-1-1 trip to the East with three straight overtime wins. Ryan Kesler is quietly rounding back into his old scoring form.

Zanstorm: Quietly? What do you mean, "quietly"? Because nobody cares?

10 13 The Canucks go 5-1-1 on their seven-game trek, including an impressive 3-2 overtime win at St. Louis on Friday night. They're playing for Torts!
9 12

GOOD NEWS: They went 5-1-1 on their seven-game road trip, their longest excursion of the season.
BAD NEWS: Vancouver isn’t getting much offense from its second, third and fourth lines.

10 11 Not many teams have taken advantage of the extra point like the Canucks. They won three games last week after regulation and are 5-1 in overtime and shootouts.
13 12 Speaking of teams that haven't beaten anyone of note yet, the Canucks are very much a work in progress. They have three power-play goals in 11 games and one in the past nine. They're not getting enough chances either -- less than two power plays per game isn't enough (17 in the past nine games), especially with the talent this team can put out there on the man-advantage. (Oct. 25)
5 - Preseason questions swirled about the window closing in Vancouver. Could be true, but there's no evidence thus far. It's a four-game winning streak for the Canucks, and Ryan Kesler has returned from no man's land.
8 - 6-3-1 in their last 10, mostly because of a monstrous 5-1-1 road record. That was their best road trip of that length in their history. Canucks closing in on top spot in the West again. Who saw that coming?

(Edit: YESSS!!!)

(Edit: Yes. Yes he is. Locked by CDC because Tommy is a made man)

It's not as fun at CDC when the team is winning.
