Mayhem On Broad Street - Canucks @ Flyers Gamethread

Canucks visit the Flyers.

The photo selection is so bad, I'm forced to settle for Edler and Jagr. The only other Canucks were Volpatti, Sturm, and Samuelsson.

Enemy territory: Broad Street Hockey (very cool people)

The Canucks have had a typical October so far, with 3 wins and 3 losses. Some people will look at how badly we're doing so far, especially with 2 of those wins coming in OT. However, as we say every October, it's still too early in the season. Seriously, we just celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving! This road trip will surely test Tortorella's new game plan for the Canucks against some teams he has been watching for years.

The first stop is Philadelphia. Since the 2010 playoffs, I've had the desire to see the Canucks host the Flyers. In fact, I'm highly considering the game on December 30th. These are two teams that have had similar fates over the last few years: fairly good in the regular season, but snakebitten in the playoffs. However, it's hard to ignore Philly's current situation: 1-5-0 after 6 games, head coach Peter Laviolette booted after only 3 games, and a team that is now expected to crash hard into the reality of their situation. Yikes.
