Doan met with the Canucks yesterday, but I don't hold out much hope for him signing here at a discount to his reported 4-year, $30 million "rumored" asking price, assuming Mike Gillis is not biting on that.

Jason Arnott, 37, as a 3rd line center is an intriguing option. When it seemed like he was a career injury prone player a few years back, he has played over 70 games in each of his past 2 seasons and scored 17 goals both years, with limited ice time (about 14:00 per game). He was a +13 with the Blues last season. 6 of his 17 goals in 2011-12 came on the power play. He received a fair bit of power play time and no shorthanded minutes. If you want to check out his CORSI / Zone Starts / PDO / etc advanced stats, head over to Behind The Net. Check out his situational stats at Yahoo Sports. Arnott made $2.5 million last season.

Here's a little Arnott video gem from the year 2000:

May be the prettiest Cup Winner ever.
