The Canucks have recalled Byron Bitz today to replace the injured Zack Kassian.

Chris Tanev was given a maintenance day today. Keith Ballard traveled with the team to Calgary but is not quite ready to play yet. Kevin Bieksa may not play either of the Canucks' final 2 games, but if the playoffs started today he would play. Source:

The Canucks now only lead the Blues by 2 points as St. Louis lost in OT to Detroit tonight and got the single point for losing. Vancouver will most likely have to win out to take the West.

I'd love for the Flames to lay down and get beaten to a pulp in this one but...look at their home record above and really, there is no love here and I don't see them mailing it in against their rival.

OK, on to something more important. Bryan Reynolds, an editor at Hockey Wilderness, which is SBN's Minnesota Wild site, lost a member of his family yesterday: his niece's daughter, Peyton Isabella. Peyton was only 3 months old. A tragedy. The family is having a hard time paying the vast funeral/misc costs and Mr. Reynolds has bravely asked for help. It hits home for me because I lost my father recently, so I want to help out.

So, in honor of little Peyton, I will donate $50 for every 1000 comments in the Canucks-Flames Game Thread on Thursday night. That way you can all help out too.

Also, if you feel inclined to help out Peyton's family financially you can do so here. The help for them is amazing so far. People have chipped in $5289 as of 10:26 pm tonight (Wednesday). Their goal is $7000, so this is a terrific story of giving.

That is all I have to say tonight. There are no words to describe such a young life ending. My thoughts go out to Mr. Reynolds and Peyton's parents and family. May you respect the grieving process and keep walking through the ups and downs that you now face. Take care.
