The Coyotes have won 2 straight games at Roger's Arena. They have also won 5 straight games. Are we going to see a tight checking low-scoring game or can the Canucks blow this one open? Expect the former over the latter. Lots at stake for both teams. The Coyotes are fighting to hold their 8th spot in the West. The Canucks are trying to keep up with the damned Red Wings for first spot.

Much more info after the jump.

INJURIES

-For both teams via TSN. The Coyotes are mostly healthy. They are without Dave Schlemko and Kurt Sauer for the rest of the season, but I like their roster anyway. The Canucks should be getting Chris Higgins back for this one. He's a bit lighter, but won't play with any less heart. Dale Weise (foot) is questionable. Keith Ballard remains a mystery.

TRENDS

  • Coyotes are 4-0 in their last 4 vs. a team with a winning record.
  • Coyotes are 4-0 in their last 4 games following a win.
  • Coyotes are 5-0 in their last 5 overall.
  • Coyotes are 5-0 in their last 5 vs. Western Conference.
  • Coyotes are 4-10 in their last 14 when their opponent scores 2 goals or less in their previous game.
  • Coyotes are 1-6 in their last 7 road games.
  • Canucks are 4-0 in their last 4 home games following a road trip of 7 or more days.
  • Canucks are 6-2 in their last 8 overall.
  • Canucks are 23-9 in their last 32 vs. Pacific.

KNOW THINE ENEMY

-The Coyotes have won 5 games in a row. This after going 3-4-5 in the month of January. In their current streak they have scored 17 goals and allowed only 6 against. We know how stingy defensively Phoenix can be and I'm sure we'll see their boring style again on Monday night.

-Phoenix has played 8 of their last 9 games at home. As you can see in the trends section above they are 1-6 in their last 7 road games.

-The Coyotes credit intense practices for their current refocus.

-Radim Vrbata has 4 goals and 5 assists in his current 7 game point streak. Ray Whitney just keeps on ticking. He has 2 goals and 10 assists in his current 8 game point streak, plus, 51 points on the season. That's only 7 points behind Hank. There are at least 3 Dogs with 4 points in their last 5 games. Goaltender Mike Smith is 0-2 career vs the Canucks, but is red hot right now, having played every game in the Coyotes' winning streak.
