I've noticed that I've been picking on bad teams lately in my gamethreads, and that this didn't work well for us. In particular, I said in those posts that Columbus should be easy to beat, and that Carolina is more of a breeze than a hurricane. We lost both games. I think I need to attempt some reverse psychology, and say only positive things about our next opponent.
Tonight, the Canucks face the Toronto Maple Leafs, who are surprising the league so far. They are currently tied with Buffalo for 2nd in the Northeast division and 6th in the Eastern Conference (shootouts make the difference here), and have had a very good start to their season. Their trio of Jonas Gustavsson, James Reimer and Ben Scrivens has been pretty strong in goal, while Phil Kessel has finally started making that trade from Boston worth it. Can Vancouver handle this new Toronto strength?
