This team has come back down to earth. Well, a little bit, anyways. The boys were rather fortunate to pull off that OT point, but a bad penalty by Henrik Sedin costed the other one. Thank goodness the road trip is over, because (aside from the Capitals game) it went pretty bad. Sure, it was fully expected that this team would crash at some point, with that 17-game point streak going. At least they still picked up 5 of the possible 10 points on that Eastern swing. And now with a 5-game home stand, they can rest up and possibly get back to their winning ways.
Also, kudos to Sergei Shirokov and Christopher Tanev, who both played very well last night. Tanev had an amazing block in the 3rd period for his first NHL game, while Shirokov scored a goal for his first career NHL point and goal, and created lots of opportunities. I'm looking forward to see how the experiment continues tomorrow when we host the Sharks.
