Well, the first round is over, and therefore it's time for the first leaderboards for Nucks Misconduct's 2 fantasy competitions! There were many surprises throughout both competitions, such as the Flyers actually making it out of the 1st round, and the Devils and Caps both crashing to elimination causing havoc for those who predicted they'd go all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals. It was also interesting to see which players showed up to play (re: Mikael Samuelsson), and which didn't (re: Joe Thornton).
After the jump, you will find both leaderboards, with reminders of how the points system works, as well as looking at how the leaders got their edges over the pack. For those of you who forget who you picked, here are the prediction threads for the players and team brackets.
UPDATE: As many of you pointed out, there was an error made in the team brackets leaderboard. I found the reason: it was because I forgot to input the points for the Wings-Coyotes series. The leaderboard is now fixed, sorry for the screw-up.
First of all, the team bracket competition. For the 1st round, you got 3 points for calling the correct team to win the series. If you got the team right, then you could also get a bonus point for calling the number of games. For example, "Canucks in 5" was worth 3 points, "Canucks in 6" was worth 4 points, and "Kings in 6" was worth absolutely nothing. In the 2nd round, the points go up to 4 points for the team and 2 points for the number of games. Round 3 will be 5 and 3, and the Stanley Cup Finals will be 6 and 4.

So, everyone's still clumped together well, the differences will come the further we get into the playoffs. casual did well by picking Boston in 6, Canucks in 6, Sharks in 6, and Hawks in 6 (all these teams won in 6 games). Meanwhile, vancitydan screwed himself over by picking the Caps, Devils, Sens, and Avs.
Next, the players competition. For each goal and assist one of your players gets, you get a point. For each game-winning goal, you get 1 bonus point. For each series-winning goal (game-winning goals that end a series), you get another bonus point. Eventually, the Stanley Cup winning goal will get yet another bonus point. For example, an assist is worth 1 point, Samuelsson's OT winner in Game 1 was worth a total of 2 points, Daniel Sedin's game-winner in Game 6 was worth a total of 3 points, and the Stanley Cup winning goal will eventually be worth 4 points.

Section 312, along with some other people, gained lots of ground by picking players such as Pavelski, Hossa, Daniel Sedin, Ovechkin, Crosby, and Cammalleri. Smoboy and Sean screwed themselves over by picking players like Marleau, Keith, Salo, Stempniak, Hedjuk, Mueller, and Gill.
Good luck to everyone in the next round.
