Why is this being reported today when it was talked about on the net about 5 days ago?
**Edit: Because Capgeek has good connections.**
Some quick facts about Tochkin:
-Apparently was the only undrafted kid who was invited to Canucks camp recently.
-Capgeek says 3 years at $530,000 per season
-5'9" 179 pounds, 18 years old
-Right Winger
-Scored 20 goals and 74 points in 72 games with the Everett Sivertips last season. Only 37 penalty minutes.
-Tochkin on Facebook (haha)
-Signed as a free agent by the Canucks on July 22, 2009. Was not drafted.
-Said Tochkin about the signing: "It’s almost a perfect story," Tochkin marveled. "You’ve got a hometown boy who wasn’t even drafted, but a week and a half later, he signs a contract with his hometown team. It’s really, really amazing."
-Wears #16 and fave player is Trevor Linden.
- Has great passing ability and vision, but needs to work on his size and skating, according the scouts. Short and has to work on skating ability? I thought short guys were always fast. He is considered a longshot to make the NHL, but must have impressed greatly at camp.
- Great Tochkin info at Canucks Central Forum.
