As Vancouver kicks open the doors to GM Place tonight, more news surrounds their putrid PK. Sayeth Mr. William Mitchell:

"Any time you take penalties, and I've always said this, it means you were out of position...We need to stop on pucks, do less skating and more stopping....If you do that and you're in the right position, you won't take penalties."

Well let's hope the Mitchell memo was passed out and memorized prior to the pregame skate. A win tonight will help extinguish some of the flames of the mob outside the gates. Maybe Sami Salo can lead the charge as tonight will be the 600th game of his injury-plagued career. And not that we want to add any pressure, but Puck Daddy has a prediction about a certain Russian Canuck getting his first NHL goal tonight.

On the other end, Nash, Mason and the rest of the Jackets are looking to go 2-0 for the first time in franchise history. Hitchcock teams are generally annoying to play against and Columbus has a good defensive unit in front of Mason. Although it should be noted that Mason is only 1-1 at GM Place with a 3.84 GAA and a .867 save%. Here's a tip: shoot high gloveside.
