Here is a trade that just happened today:
The Bruins have traded D Milan Jurcina to Washington for a 4th round pick in 2008.
Back to the rumors...
* Nathan Horton may want out of Florida, and Vancouver and Boston are the front-runners for him in the West. -Hockey Buzz. Ah geeziz, the Horton to Vancouver rumors never end, do they?
* Les Habitants are interested in acquiring Nik Zherdev or Ladislav Nagy. -Hockey Buzz. Ooo, 2 more injury-prone guys to Montreal? They'd fit right in!
* The Black Hawks and even the Bruins may be seriously inquiring about Sergei Samsonov. - Hockey Buzz. I can see him going to Chicago.
* The Rangers may be inquiring about Todd Bertuzzi. -Hockey Buzz. Who in their right mind would take Bertuzzi when he has proven nothing this season? It's like acquiring Eric Daze...
* Bill Guerin is being looked at by Nashville, Buffalo, Ottawa, and Montreal. - Hockey Buzz. Can you see Nashville adding anyone? Do they NEED anyone? Why would Buffalo need him either?
***ANOTHER TRADE TODAY: The Lightning have acquired forwads KYLE WANVIG AND STEPHEN BABY from the Thrashers for defenceman ANDY DELMORE and forward ANDRE DEVEAUX.*** - Spector's. Geez, I think Delmore just won the Journeyman Award.
*Iain MacIntyre reports Canucks GM Dave Nonis might "line up...to window-shop Philadelphia Flyers centre Peter Forsberg, but MacIntyre notes there are too many issues that'll likely prevent Forsberg from coming to Vancouver. - Spector's. Yeah, issues like: he might catch a longterm flu in the Vancouver cold air, or his leg might fall off. Can you imagine Forsberg playing with Naslund though....damn!
*Jim Matheson yesterday reported speculation is growing that the Bruins will trade defenceman Brad Stuart to the Oilers. -Spector's and the Edmonton Journal. There is little doubt that the Oilers will get a decent D-man before the deadline.
*Brent Sopel, Derek Armstrong, Sean Avery and possibly Aaron Miller could be moved by the deadline. - Spector's and the LA daily News. This is because their contracts expire at the end of the year.
