Hab hospital open for business

Cristbal Huet pulled his left hamstring on Wednesday night against the Devils and did not return. He is considered day-to-day at this point. The Habs called up 21 year-old Jaroslav Halak from the Hamilton Bulldogs to replace him. Halak may get the start tomorrow night against the Hurricanes. He has a 16-11-0 record with the Bulldogs this season and has a 2.00 GAA, (best in the AHL) and a .932 save percentage.
The Habs, who have lost 8 of their last 10 games, should perhaps give Halak a shot immediately, as David Aebischer has struggled somewhat recently. Maybe Halak can prove a point and the Habs can ride him on a winning streak. The Habs need something.
But a barrage of injuries is not one of them. Alex Kovalev is now out of action for 3 weeks with an elbow injury. Mike Johnson is day-to-day with the flu. Craig Rivet is out of action with pneumonia. On occasion, more-so than many teams, the Habs get hit with the injury bug all at once. It not only crowds the local hospital, but it also gives Hab-haters like me a good laugh!
