PATRICE BERGERON SIGNS MULTI-YEAR DEAL

New, comments
Terms of the deal have not been disclosed. Bergeron is turning into a star in Boston. He had 73 points last season on a line with Marco Sturm and Brad Boyes. This line should improve this season, and hopefully make Bruin fans somewhat forget the loss of Joe Thornton. On paper, the Bruins look better than they have in years, with actual depth.
The only problem is the signing of Zdeno Chara at $7.5 million, which was a bone-headed move. Everybody knows that.
Question marks for the Bruins this season will be: 1. Goaltending. Toivonen and Thomas have been great, can they continue their play? 2. Marc Savard. This guy better not cause any problems, and just fit into the lineup. Will Savard play on the top line? Will he be a bonafide baby? I hope not. Hopefully they leave last year's line intact.
The Bruins are on the rise this season and will be very competitive in the Northeast division.
