Hat tip to Bobby Canuck for finding this. Murphy wrote in his blog: When Vancouver's prospects arrive at camp September 7, don't be suprised if 2009 1st round pick Jordan Schroeder is among them. Word is the Canucks want to sign Schroeder, which would spell the end of his university career at Minnesota. *EDIT* Thanks to vancitydan for finding a link to a Sun article and posting it in the FanPost section, where Shroeder's father says his boy is staying in school for one more year.

Shame on me for posting this. Shame. If they do sign for his rights it will cost them a 3rd round draft pick.

This is only a rumor originating from the Ottawa Sun. Personally, I'd take Dany Heatley over Marian Gaborik any day of the week. Whether or not Heatley will fit into the Canucks' salary structure is another question. Once again, we are waiting for the Sedins to sign here or not, but more importantly we are probably not going to give the Senators what they want in return for the disgruntled winger.
