Canuck coach Alain Vigneault is expected to brief reporters later today on the status of Kesler and defenceman Keith Ballard, who also missed practice after leaving Wednesday's game with a back injury.

— That from the Vancouver Sun. Kesler was not at practice. Luongo practiced early but it was not a full practice for him. Vigneault, according to Tony Gallagher was bag skating the boys this morning and calling them out. Also, Eddie Lack has been sent back down to Chicago. The Canucks don't play again until Sunday. Update: Via the Canucks twitter feed: Mason Raymond has been cleared for contact, Luongo is day to day, no timetable for Ballard's return (back) and Kesler (shoulder) should be ready to play on Sunday.

As Jason Botchford reported yesterday, Team 1040 listeners overwhelmingly voted for "Roberto Luongo" as their most worrysome issue about their beloved Canucks, taking 62% of the vote. This emphatically proves one thing: Almost two-thirds of TEAM 1040 listeners are complete idiots.

— Oh great. Also, Ehrhoff is headed to the World Championships to play for Germany. Willie Mitchell finally addressed the press for the first time today since getting smoked by Malkin in January. He talks about why he didn't talk to the media since then, his displeasure for Colin Campbell on the non-suspension for Malkin, etc. Willie looks lost. He still looks like the guy sitting on the bench right after the hit.

"If there's one guy that I know who doesn't dive and doesn't embellish, it's Roberto Luongo," said Alain Vigneault. "That's the first I heard of that. We've improved on going to tougher areas and staying in front of the net, but I think we've done it in a legal way."

— HAHA What? Lies! Ah well. Lou has been told to stop diving, so he is going to have to tough it out with Byfuglien in front of him all series. He'll especially need his buddies to clear the traffic away from in front of the net.
