Hansen Sent Back To Vancouver. Status Unknown

First of all, here is the footage of the incident. Looks like a hockey play to me, with an unfortunate ending. I don't think Brian Strait meant to pile Hansen into the boards quite like that. S...

To the surprise of no one, Canucks winger Jannik Hansen has filed for salary arbitration. Hansen, who was awarded a salary of $825,000 last summer when the team took him to arbitration, is coming off his best NHL season and should be in position to cash in big on a new deal. Hansen, 25, was a big part of the Canucks’ third line that was very good in the regular season and excellent in the playoffs. An excellent penalty killer, he scored a career-high 29 points in 82 games in the regular season. He had 3-6-9 in 25 playoff games.

Via The Province. His hearing will be later in the month. What do you think he'll get?

Daniel Sedin Out Until November 20 / More Updates

His foot is still sore, so he has been sent back to Vancouver, and should be ready on the 20th: the Canucks' first home game after the 5-game road trip ends. Lovely. Jannik Hansen should make his regular season debut on Thursday against the Wings. Darcy Hordichuk will most-likely be suspended for 1 game for instigating a fight against Cam Janssen in the final 5:00 of last night's game. Tanner Glass collided with Steve Bernier during practice today, re-opening a cut on his leg. He says he should be OK to play against Detroit. Alas, more line juggling ensues. All these updates via The Province.

Luongo Has The Flu

Sigh. But it's possible that both Bernier, Hansen and Daniel will be ready to go by Tuesday. Update (November 9) from The Province: Obviously, Luongo's flu has dissipated because he told Ben Kuzma today in Dallas that he feels that he can play, but that his ribs are still sore and his timing is off. Andrew Raycroft will start against the Blues, and Luongo will most likely sit on the bench as the backup. Daniel Sedin did not skate today and is apparently still feeling some discomfort. It looks like both Luongo and Sedin will be ready for Thursday's game against the jackass Wings. Update: Confirmed - Both Luongo and Daniel will sit out tomorrow night. Schneider returns to back-up with Raycroft getting the start.

Let The Kids Play

I guess I should start bitching about the most recent twist in the Summer o' Sundin which is he may not make a decision until after the season starts. I'd, rather, recommend a moratorium on...

Canucks send Jannik Hansen to Manitoba

The Canucks have reassigned Jannik Hansen to the Moose today. Wonder what that says about the chances of Sundin playing. Or maybe Ryan Johnson. Hansen has not scored a goal for a long time. He...
