"He's working on core training and he's got a regime that he needs to finish," said Lawrence Gilman.
(Cody) Hodgson is expected to be at the prospects physicals at Rogers Arena on Friday, but Gilman said it's uncertain if the 20-year-old centre will play in the prospects tournament in Penticton.
"'For any player, we want to make sure he's fit to play," said Gilman. "We haven't had a chance to conduct a (recent) medical evaluation (on Hodgson)." - from Jim Jamieson at the Province
Update (h/t Yankee): Gillis said about Hodgson today: "Our medical staff is going to do a thorough investigation, and if there’s any tweaks or he feels unsure yet or if he needs a bit more time, he won’t be participating this weekend. He’s gone through a long struggle with this back injury, he’s had a really good summer of training, and we’re going to put him on the ice when he’s 100% ready to go. We want him ready as soon as possible but he’s like any other player who is rehabbing an injury. They get totally evaluated and don’t get on the ice until they’re 100% and ready to participate. It would be somewhat unfair if he wasn’t in that position when we have guys working their butt off to try and make this hockey team. I spoke with him yesterday. He’s in great spirits, very eager, we just want to make sure he’s 100%."
