Ben Eager nails Rick Rypien. Rypien, Alain Vigneault and other Canucks thought the hit was late and warranted a suspension. The NHL ruled today that no suspension was necessary. Eager quipped: "It was nothing," he said. "It was a big hit. There's big hits in the playoffs. It seems when ever there is a big hit these days everyone is talking suspension."

A great video of how towel power came to be...in hockey anyway. Did Roger Nielson / Canucks fans invent "towel power"? Not according to this article. While I hated the idea of "Thunder Sticks", the whiteouts from the Jets era (and others) and the other mass-color ideas for home games are great. Yet, (call me biased) towel power reigns supreme, especially at Canucks home games because it is such a big part of our history. Thank you Roger Nielson, R.I.P. Your legacy lives on.
