Pool C: Czech Republic, Sweden, Switzerland, Latvia
I will quote Curtis Rush from The Toronto Star on this:
There is no elimination after the preliminary round. The top four teams based on where they finish in the group and higest number of points will receive byes into the quarter-finals. Standings are determined by points, with the first tiebreaker being head-to-head matchups. The next tiebreaker would be goal differential in games played between the teams, followed by goals scored in games played between teams that are tied.
The bottom eight teams will play elimination games in a qualification round for a chance to win the remaining spots in the quarter-finals. In the preliminary round, teams get three points for a win in regulation time, two points for a win in overtime or a shootout, one point for losing in overtime or a shootout.
