The week-long summer development camp for Vancouver Canucks prospects kicked off today with 38 players (20 forwards, 13 defensemen and five goalies) reporting to Rogers Arena for the usual on and off ice workouts. The camp ends with the beloved Grouse Grind run from hell (here's the results from last year's crew).
You can check the names (part 1 and part 2) but the notables include Frank Corrado, Evan McEneny, Jordan Subban, Henrik Tommernes, Bo Horvat, Brendan Gaunce, Cole Cassels, Alexandre Grenier, Hunter Shinkaruk, Nicklas Jensen, Alexandre Mallet, Joseph Labate, Joacim Eriksson and Joe Cannata. 15 others in the group are unsigned prospects invited to attend camp, including area native Kyle Hope. Other names you'd expect to be at camp have already attended it before or have other engagements.
Invited goaltending prospect Phillipe Trudeau is the giant of the group at 6'6''. Invited defensive prospect Paul Geiger is the tank at 207 lbs, just edging out Horvat's 206 lbs. Just to make you feel ancient, the oldest player is Cannata at 23 years old.
Anyone you're looking forward to seeing specifically?
