Name: Zach Hamill
Born: September 23, 1988 in Port Coquitlam, BC
Weight: 180 pounds
Drafted: 8th overall in 2007 by the Boston Bruins
On Twitter: @Zhamill9. (Good luck with that)
2012-13 Team: San Antonio Rampage, Hershey Bears and Milwaukee Admirals (AHL)
A former top 10 pick at the NHL Draft that has a lot to prove. The Canucks signed Hamill today to a 1-year, 2-way, $550,000 (NHL) $75,000 (AHL) deal. He is expected to start in Utica with the Comets. You type his name in Google Search and the word "bust" comes up. Lots of pressure on top 10 picks.
The Province's Jim Jamieson has a heck of a post up about Hamill and his story here. I like it when Gillis brings in local talent.
Zach does have a Stanley Cup ring after being called up by the Bruins in the 2011 Playoffs, but did not play.
Here is a YouTube clip that was posted at the time he was drafted by the Bruins in 2007:
Looks speedy and crafty. Check this out:
Tough time in Boston, hey Zach?
Best of luck, Mr. Hamill. Show 'em what you got!
The Canucks also signed a left winger today: Colin Stuart. The 6'2" 204-pounder was originally drafted 135th by the Atlanta Thrashers. The 31 year-old played last season in Germany.
Here are Stuart's career stats:

Good luck, Stuart! Welcome back to America.
Keep in mind that the Canucks shared the Chicago Wolves as an affiliate. The Utica Comets is solely their own. They have to stock up on that team too.
