As the Canucks visit the Wild, their Northwest Division lead is now threatened. It's time to either prove they deserve it, or hand it over to Minnesota.

Okay, time to get serious here. The Canucks have not been playing well lately, going 3-3-4 in their last games. Hell, a few of us were looking at jumping off the ledge after the loss to Columbus. And that has made me come to a ridiculous notion: we should give up the NW lead for a while.
I'm not joking.
We started off the season we always start our Octobers: losing a few games, before finding our groove and pulling together a good stretch of wins. This good stretch was enough to put us in the division lead for a while. However, we lost that groove. We were lucky to have held on for that lead for a while, but the gap is closing.
Look at that. With a win against Nashville last night, the Wild have pulled within 2 points of our NW lead. If they win tonight, they take it away (they have more ROW wins). Sure, we have enough points to stay in a playoff spot for the time being (we could be as low as 8th at the end of tonight), but the conference is very tight this year. It wouldn't take too many more losses before we'd be joining Colorado and Calgary in the basement. We've reached a crucial moment here for Vancouver: start winning games, or let Minny take the crown.
The Canucks are one of the best teams in the league. Show that you deserve that praise. Coconuts go!
Tonight's theme was more situation-inspired. As I was typing, however, the Matrix came to mind. So enjoy.
