Hansen Sent Back To Vancouver. Status "Unknown"

Oh noes! Not BEAKER! - Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

First of all, here is the footage of the incident.

Looks like a hockey play to me, with an unfortunate ending. I don't think Brian Strait meant to pile Hansen into the boards quite like that.

So sucky. Prior to the incident, Beaker had set up Daniel Sedin beautifully, and was possibly coming off my shitlist:

Hansen has been sent back home to Vancouver for further evaluation on what the team is only calling an "upper-body injury."  The Canucks are being mum with injury status of their players and I don't mind, except for my own selfish curiosity. (When is Alexandre Burrows returning? Help!) Hansen left the ice holding his wrist, so I can venture a guess that it's a wrist or shoulder injury.

With Hansen on the shelf, I guess David Booth slots back in after being a healthy scratch last night against the Islanders. Coach Torts said about that:

"He’s not doing enough to play."

I love Torts though, because he keeps some things short and sweet in his post game pressers. A reporter asked him another Booth question and the coach responded:

"I am not going to get into a public conversation about him. Like I answered the other question, that’s how I feel about it right now. That’s all I am going to give you."

I don't care how many shots Booth was getting on net prior to his benching, but as a scorer he needs to score. Right now I do not see him making the top 6 unless he blows the coach's mind, consistently.

With Jordan Schroeder also on the healing shelf, the Canucks may choose to call up another forward from Utica. It's quite likely that happens, unless they totally forgive Andrew Alberts, who was benched early last game (37 seconds of ice time) and play him more.

Zac Dalpe again? Check out the Utica Comets' current scoring leaders and wager a guess!
