After the 4-1 ass-kicking the Sharks handed the Canucks last game, it will be very interesting to see how the team responds under new coach John Tortorella. You know he hated that effort. Let's see how they respond. My guess: with a vengeance. The Canucks dropped in every major statistical category listed above except for 2: minor penalties taken and more impressively: they maintained their 100% penalty-killing perfection for this young season.

The Canucks played most of their first 3 games like they were fighting for their lives in the playoffs. It was a torrid pace before they met the Sharks last game. To me, it seems like a pace that cannot be maintained. And it won't. So you'll get games like Thursday. There will be plenty more like them. There will be times when they work their asses off and lose. There will be times when the Canucks get frustrated because they continually bust their asses and keep losing. It's the ups and downs of a season. I have no worries.

Montreal is coming off a 4-1 win over the Oilers on Thursday night. They have a few kids that are lighting it up early: Alex Galchenyuk, Lars Eller and Delta kid Brendan Gallagher (hopefully no relation to Tony Gallagher). Check out this beauty play by the kids:

Impressive speed there. The Canucks' defence had better be prepared for it.

The "elder" Habs players like Danny Briere, Brian Gionta, Max Pacioretty, Tomas Plekanec and Andrei Markov only have a combined 2 goals and 5 assists through the Habs' first 4 games. Speaking of Gionta, he has returned to Montreal for family matters and will not play in this game. Hopefully the other 4 "old farts" don't play either. By "don't play" I mean "continue sucking". We'll keep those kids in check. Keep your head up, boys! We have head hunters here in Vancouver! Suspensions? F*** 'em! We don't care! Keep your damned head up or you'll lose it!

PROJECTED ROSTERS

CANUCKS

Sedin-Sedin-Santorelli!

Booth-Kesler-Higgins (get it going, you honky-tonk yankee bastards!) This is the American Debt Line.

Kassian-Richardson-Hansen (Welcome back, Zack Attack! Now go out there and be anything but a pylon, thanks.)

Sestito-Dalpe-Weise (Nobody talks about Dalpe because nobody sees Dalpe. Torts refuses to use the line to much capacity and even when he did against SJ, they were defensive liabilities.)

Hamhuis-Bieksa

Tanev-Garrison

Stanton-Alberts?-Weber?

Luongo (Who hails from Montreal..expect a big game from him)

CANADIENS

Galchenyuk-Plekanec-Gallagher (Wait..how is Plekanec on that line yet has so few points?)

Pacioretty-Eller-Briere (Wait...how is Eller on this line yet has so many points?)

Bourque-Desharnais-Prust (Expect a Prust-Sestito fight if Sestitio ever gets on the ice)

Moen-Bournival-White

Gorges-Subban

Markov-Diaz

Tinordi-Bouillon

Price (From Anahim Lake, BC. Expect a solid game by him too, but pray for a shitting of the bed.)
