I CAN'T CONTROL THE VOLUME OF MY VOICE - Rich Lam
At long last it's almost here: the (chaotic) Vancouver Canucks training camp.
I think once you see Alain Vigneault stroll up to a media scum it's the start of something resembling Canucks hockey.
The coach met with the media for the first time since leaving his mom's basement (blogger scum) and shared a few thoughts with the world, including:
On Training Camp - "We've called up guys from #Chicago. Possibility for more following the Wolves in Abbotsford this weekend". - Coach V
— Vancouver Canucks (@VanCanucks) January 11, 2013
- Those already mentioned to be on their way - if not already there and practicing at UBC - include Connauton, Desbiens, Ebbett, Kassian, Schroeder and Tanev.
"We're still waiting for this to be ratified. Then we'll see the schedule and how this all unfolds". - Coach V #Canucks
— Vancouver Canucks (@VanCanucks) January 11, 2013
- It's expected to be ratified by 8 AM tomorrow morning when the window closes for NHLPA voting.
"We have the best fans in the league. We're going to show them how proud and appreciative we are". - Coach V instagr.am/p/UWpiHstOLS/
— Vancouver Canucks (@VanCanucks) January 11, 2013
- Aww. Hugs.
"When this is all done, we're going to focus on Game 1. Then Game 2. The emphasis is on individual games". - Coach V
— Vancouver Canucks (@VanCanucks) January 11, 2013
Indeed.
"I've been waiting for this. We've been waiting for this. We're as ready as we'll ever be." - Coach V #Canucks

...um, good to hear.
Vigneault also mentioned Kassian is a "good young player" and that he doesn't see Chris Higgins being an option at 2LC (something Higgins himself mentioned earlier this week), but instead is looking towards seeing if Jordan Schroeder or Andrew Ebbett can step in alongside David Booth and Mason Raymond (tick f'ing tock on that slot).
When asked about Luongo, AV quipped: "he's one of my two goalies."
One last giggle via hosea24hours: "Vigneault joked about needing to hold red-hot Dale Weise back."

We'll keep this story stream up and running with the latest news on camp battles, surprises and - because it's the Canucks - heartbreaks. Be sure to pester us on Twitter and Facebook as we gear up for the week ahead.
