The Canucks AHL affiliate - the Chicago Wolves - are set to open up their preseason camp tomorrow (Fri, Sept 28). The nine-day camp will include four preseason games: two against the Perioa Rivermen (the St. Louis affiliate), one against the Rockford Icehogs (the Chicago affiliate...*spits*) and another against the Milwaukee Admirals (the Nashville affiliate). Once the camp is over and the final cuts have been made, the Wolves will host their home opener on October 13th against the IceHogs.
Thanks to the lockout, there are no shortage of notables taking to the ice tomorrow including Chris Tanev, Zack Kassian, Eddie Lack, Andrew Ebbett, Alex Friesen, Anton Rodin, Kevin Connauton, Yann Sauve, Jordan Schroeder (no pressure there), Stefan Schneider, Bill Sweatt and Kellan Tochkin among others. Other familiar faces will behind the bench: Scott Arniel (who is looking forward to the challenge) & Nolan Baumgartner. Lorne Henning and Stan Smyl will be on hand as well. Lastly, as you know, Dan Cloutier will be on hand.
It's like a block party with a confusing invite but one hell of a cook (Mr. Booth perhaps?) manning the grill: you just have to go.
We'll keep you posted with news, images and whatever else pops up in this storysteam (fancy new toys are fancy). In the meantime, which prospect are you looking forward to seeing hit the ice and not suddenly fall victim to a random, season-ending injury (cough Desbiens cough)?
