Good morning. Or afternoon, wherever the heck you are. Canucks visit the Avalanche for a matinee. Last time we saw them, we whipped them 6-0, which means that Colorado will probably be looking for vengeance. Especially since they're tied for 9th in the conference right now. Yeah, now would be a good time for our boys to start putting in more effort....

Hello all! Long time viewer, first time 'commenter'
I am a Canucks fan in NJ (yes, I said New Jersey, I really don’t know why I got so attached to the Canucks, last year’s playoff run, and I tend to develop a bunch of ‘man-crushes’ if you will, and Luongo and his story and what the man has dealt with just hit a spot for me, even bought his t-shirt :)…I am NOT a fist-pumping guido though…I swear!)
I also like the Rangers, not the Devils (I know…1994! I think those two teams meet again this year, but with a different outcome!)
I visit NM on pretty much a daily basis, always a great read, and I’d thought I’d create an account and chirp my ‘East Coast Bias’ views every now and then. And to say fuck the Bruins, the Red Sox, the Pats…anything Boston. I see they’re down 1-0 to Pitt already, good job Tummy!
Thanks all…and my brother for some reason is an Avalance fan, we seem to clash in weird team matchups even though we are both born and raised in NJ (Nucks and Avs, I am Seahawks to his Niners)…so a win would be all the more sweet!

…although my favorite player is, and will always be Hasselbeck (have both his Seahawks and Titans jersey) so I do follow the Titans a bit as well. Glad to see he had a pretty solid year, we’ll see what happens next year with his #1 WR healthy, and if he can beat out Locker in camp

yeah...seeing the Rangers pretty much whenever they are on TV...
…their defense and goaltending is scary good. Like that third goal against the Wings…why couldn’t they just clear the damn puck?? Girardi and/or Staal I believe would have done more to get it out of the zone, or at least knock the opposing player down and not so much hang Roberto out there to dry.
They do protect Henrik like he is King…or God himself even.

I would think the Nucks speed would eventually counter that shit.

I have a bunch of Boston sports' fan 'friends'...
…although they are more acquaintances, to be honest. can’t stand them! it started with the Patriots, and when the Giants shut them up it was oh so very sweet, and I never followed hockey too closely until last year’s playoffs, and everything surrounding that.
I didn’t hear the end of it for a while, and seeing as how both the Canucks and Rangers outworked them so far this year…I cannot complain :)

Sick goal.
Having coffee/breakfast while I watch this game, first game I’m going t watch in its entirety since the LA game. It’s been such a weird lack of Canucks lately.
The early start times present a much more “football” style of watching; i.e. watching first thing in the morning. I tend to think of hockey as a good evening sport; dinner, beer, nice pre-game set up for the night. Oh well, this way I can watch the game and still be productive the rest of the day.

A theory on early games
I think the weird start times for the Stanley Cup final may have affected the team more than anyone might have guessed.
We only had 1 afternoon game last year.
Think the higher number this year is supposed to help the Canucks prep to play anytime / anywhere?

lot of promise this past season. if they can somehow shore up the QB situation, with Beast Mode, their core group of young WR’s, and that defense, I see nothing but good things from them down the road
I know he’s getting old, injury-prone, and had a few mediocre to bad years, but I do miss Hasselbeck on the team. that ‘05 season (I even bough the DVD of it) was one I will never forget…friggin’ refs and Cheatsburgh, but what can you do
