I know neither of those players are involved in the rivalry anymore, but it's just classic Vancouver-Calgary footage.
Anyways, it appears as though the Flames are trying to get back in the playoffs. Despite being 12th in the West right now, they are only 2 points off of 8th place. Coming off an OT loss to Phoenix, this will be a big game for them. The Canucks played well in Minnesota, can they do the same tonight?

I enjoyed the losing streak for awhile, being that its the Blackhawks. But I like they’re fans, and now I just kind of am rooting for them to turn this around.

sure I feel sorry for the handful that come here and are respectful n nice and all that… but the fanbase as a whole? Sorry. Looks good on em. And that shoe? We wore it for two years before passing it back to them. If that makes me a bad person? Meh. Whatever. They’re rivals. As long as nothing bad happens to their team like we’ve endured (Ryp, Luc etc.), I have no problem seeing them go through dark times. They’ve got their cup to fall back on, as they’re so fond of reminding us…

I'm happy with the overall result and how we are generally improving
albeit against shittier teams than before. But I’m getting a little bit tired of a couple of things.
Firstly, Raymond. Keith Ballard last year was benched ostensibly because of AV’s “Equal treatment rule,” essentially that there were other guys playing better and that the team cannot afford to sacrifice points to let people play through struggles. A sort of “your salary or tenure etc… will not determine your playing time, unless your name is Roberto Luongo, Ryan Kesler, Daniel Sedin or Henrik Sedin.” message.
Mason Raymond has 13 points in 29 games. He looks decent on the backcheck and defence, but is doing nothing for us offensively these days. He even seems to be a bit average in the shootout.
I can think of a handful of guys playing better than him. Hodgson, Booth and Duco to name two. And yet Raymond gets to basically play the entire OT, skating around making one good pass but otherwise looking a bit lost and still runs in the shootout. So when does the message get sent to Raymond? I know he’s a great charachter guy etc… but if AV wants to maintain the credibility he wanted to establish in benching Ballard, he has to say “enough is enough” and at the very least, staple his ass to the bench from time to time. Raymond played more than Kesler in OT it felt like. Hello?
Second, what is the deal with AV sending Rome out in 3v3 OT? No, seriously. Rome’s little streak ended months ago, but he keeps ending up in offensive situations more frequently than he should. Rome is a great 5 or 6 guy who can play average minutes and give you safe, dependable play. But rolling him with Henrik Sedin in OT? Really?
Kipper was really good tonight, full props to him! Glad at what we’ve been achieving, I just hope we keep building up steam.
