What are those guys watching?
The NHL cancelled the Winter Classic today. I now await the final nail in the coffin of this season. None of this surprises me, as I have believed since last year that all this would happen. I am disappointed that I probably won’t get to see any games until next October, but what can I do. I will return to the fan fold when hockey comes back. I have no anger at either side. I spend $160 a year on NHL Centerice. I guess I have extra money to spend on Christmas presents this year.
In fact I will have approximately 240 more hours of freedom between now and April. Actually more, if I include all the time I spend checking out blogs. I think I will spend most of that time sleeping, unless my little girl has other plans for me. I may have to give the NBA another look. Weren’t we laughing at the NBA last year because we believed their fans would give hockey a chance? I guess I have the NFL until Feb and I am one of the few on here who watches golf. I will get to watch t.v. again, but I am not sure if that is a good thing or bad. Maybe I will go see a movie this year. I could start the next (first?) great Canadian hockey novel. I am sure I will spend more time at the beach. (How many of you can say that?)
I am disappointed that the Nucks lose this year, with the players on this team. Having the Sedins miss a whole year is not a good thing in my eyes. They are not getting any younger. I will have to wait longer to see what happens to Lu. I think T.O., but hope Gillis can pull something bigger off. (Please not Chicago). I hope Kesler heals properly during this break and that no members of the Canucks get injured during this hiatus.
I part of me wishes that the whole bloody system was torn down and they looked at what went wrong on both sides and started again. I dream big. I hope that this community sticks around. I may need to buy a PS3 and get my fix there.
