The babe Canucks lost to the babe Blues in a shootout decision Monday night.

A quick recap of last night's game between the Chicago Wolves and Peoria Rivermen:

>> The Wolves opened the scoring halfway through the first with a PPG from Matt McCready after some nice cycling from Peter Andersson and Kellan Tochkin (pictured above).

>> The Rivermen knotted it at one when Mark Cundari blasted a point shot past Joe Cannata less than two minutes after McCready's goal.

>> There were a pair of fights in the first period, one of which included 2012 second round pick Alexandre Mallet squaring off with Cody Beach. Mallet knocked Beach down early, but he popped back up and scored a draw (according to Twitter).

>> Arniel went with Rai, Tochkin, Andersson, Mallet, Matson and Bicke for the shootout. Only Tochkin converted on his chance.

>> The Wolves were 1-for-3 on the powerplay, the Rivermen were 0-for-7.

>> Cannata finished up with 10 saves before being replaced by Corbeil halfway through the game.

>> Lorne Henning, Stan Smyl, Dave Babych (woot!) and Neil Komadoski were all in attendance last night. St. Louis had Doug Armstrong, Ken Hitchcock, Al MacInnis, Tim Taylor & Corey Hirsch.

>> Arniel said in his post game he liked what he saw from the first year pros and they plan to make some roster moves by Tuesday afternoon.

>> Next game is tomorrow against the Baby Hawks in the form of the Rockford IceHogs. Expect line brawls damn it.
