Tanev Sent Back Down To Chicago
The Canucks have announced this afternoon that Chris Tanev has been sent down. That's good news. That means Sami Salo is ready to return to help out the anemic power play.

I wonder
if the demotion is just to get Tanev some playing time during the AS break? The Wolves play in Abby on Tuesday and Wednesday.

That crossed my mind. But I am sure Salo is ready.

Still
I think most of us would prefer Tanev over Sulzer.

I agree

But with Salo back, Tanev sits. What good is that?

Tanev Sitting
Sitting is no good for Tanev, but he also fills the team’s biggest hole – a steady right-side D. I personally think our best lineup for D would be Ham/Juice, Edler/Salo, Ballard/Tanev. That gets everyone playing on the proper side and I think it would give other teams fits.
I would think
After the ASG break he comes back and gets a go with Ballard.

We have a WiiNNah!
DCR nailed it. AV sounded like he was pretty happy…Juice said in his interview today how the “guys really like having him in the lineup…”
Kid can play. That one game was against last year’s WCF and he played one of the heaviest forechecks in the West like it was no big thang.

they can be happy all they want but he was sent down. Alberts gets the nod. Again. And that’s how it should be right now. Besides for all we know the Canucks are keeping guys like Sulzer and Alberts playing for possible trades

Honestly
I like to see them putting Tanev in Chicago and not letting him waste away in Ballard’s box, which is where he would be a lot. The guy is getting prime time and development down there and is going to be an awesome addition in a year or so.
This team has shown it keeps guys in the minors until they are ready, then easing them into playing and there’s been some pretty fine results. Hodgson, Hansen & Schneider are progressing very well and I am feeling quite good about how Gillis is managing the whole organization, helping develop players and getting them to reach their potential.
