PrintThe Canadian press is reporting that the Canucks have released Manny Legace. Coach AV is quoted in the article as saying he did a good job and that this should hopefully give him a chance to land somewhere else in the league this year. Possibly a team requiring a veteren backup goalie. One would think that Manny didn't really have a good chance of making the Canucks with our current depth is goal of Luongo, Schneider, & Lack.
Hopefully his effort at the Canucks camp will give him a shot elsewhere.

I don’t see him landing an NHL job anywhere. He looks too small to me. Leaves the whole top of the net open. Teams go for bigger goalies now

you know that's important
because butterfly goalies like Roberto Luongo tend to expose the top of the net as well. And he’s a pretty big guy.

why would we want someone who does exactly the same thing as our top-rated goalie.

well, most butterfly goalies do that. Just some are bigger or have better reaction time
