Heres a couple little stats from tonights game:
You thought Boston's powerplay was bad? The Canucks went 0/8 tonight. With a total of 125 penality minutes being handed out to both teams.
At least we outshot them. 41-38 for Vancouver.
I don't really want to get into the goalie situation, but Thomas didn't get the shutout (thanks Hansen). Luongo's SV% - .789 Thomas' SV% - .976
Sami Salo was the only plus player for Vancouver (+1). But the Canucks defense was really tested physically in this game, losing Aaron Rome early in the game (Game Misconduct for a late hit on Nathan Horton). Four of the Canucks Five D-Men played over 20 minutes in the game, with Ehrhoff playing close to 30 minutes. Malholtra's playing time increased to 14:58 minutes tonight. A seven minute increase from Game 2.
"If it's acceptable for them, then so be it." "Certainly wouldn't be acceptable on our end of it." Boston coach Claude Julien said, refering to Maxim Lapierre taunting Bergeron about the Game 1 incident by pointing his finger near Bergeron's mouth, daring him to bite it. Then in tonights game two Bruin players (Mark Recchi and Milan Lucic) did the exact same thing to Alex Burrows (the Biting Bandit). This was a major slap to the face, to their coach. Oh the irony.
