This is the essence of belief in something greater than the self. For us tonight we believe in the Canucks, they carry expectations and dreams, they are representing our hearts. They are our champions, the heroes of the present. The finale is going to be one of those beautiful moments, something you'll tell of to your children, these heroes of the present, will become as mythical heroes, folk legends and perhaps even gods among us should they carry us to the promised land, should they carry that chalice high tonight. That's something amazing. Life grants visions of such things as hazy dreams, obscuring the real being and saving it’s beauty for when we live to see the dream come to be. Tonight we live in the dream, tonight we could see it come to be. This is the time of legends, this is our time.
You stand there reading this simple man's wisdom about how beautiful this moment is now. The expectation of finally being able to see blue, white and green reflected on silver, to see the mountains of victory not as immeasurable objects in the distance, but as vantages from which we will never forget reaching? I know you're nervous, I know you ask what if, I know you may not feel like you can go on. However it is your glory which is within reach. It is our glory which is in reach. So I want you all to remember one beautiful thing. This moment comes rarely, feel lucky to feel what you do. The whole range of feeling from supreme terror to boundless joy. You want to love this moment, it may never come again, go a little crazy and remember one thing, above all others: GO CANUCKS GO!
