Here's a theory to mull. If the Canucks win the Stanley Cup with Chris Tanev continuing to play as well as he did
in game 5 is he their Con Smythe candidate??? There may be a strong argument that even though we know it
would be impossible for him to win it he may be most deserving Canuck.
When things looked a little desperate at the end of Game 4 and Ballard looking like he was in way over his head
and a risky proposition to put into the line up where would the Canucks be without the 9th on the depth chart
rookie entry level contract Tanev. The kid that plays like he has Ice in his veins and nerves of steel.
Where would we be without him----5 man D for the remaining games?? Could the Canucks win with a 5 man
D. I think they could maybe but I also think maybe not. Obviously with a 5 man D someone has to take up the
minutes and being tired usually makes for bad decisions and in hockey where split second decisions are required
bad decisions inevitably end up in the back of your Net. I guess my point is when the Canucks win the Stanley Cup
Chris Tanev may be a more important cog in the wheel than we will ever know or appreciate. What a coming out
party for a Rookie who played himself into the Line Up and deserves to be there and his peers trust while we have
a 4 million dollar man that scares me every time the puck goes anywhere near him.
