Well at least we don't have to wait too long between games. Sunday's game is a 12:00 PST start and let's hope the Canucks' parade to the penalty box and horrible penalty killing stops. At least it got better after the Sharks scored on their first 5 power plays of the series, including the first 2 PP chances of Game 3. I had a feeling this was going to be an issue in Game 3. During the game I was hoping they would take more penalties so they would snap out of the PK funk. That more or less happened, as they killed (I believe) 6 of the final 7 penalties of the game. We know how good the Canucks' PK CAN be.
That was a good thing. So was almost coming back from a 4-1 deficit late in the 3rd period. The Canucks have to show that work ethic again, right off the opening faceoff. That style of play that makes the Sharks look like they are 2 steps behind. Speed. This is why I am still angered by the benching of Cody Hodgson and Jeff Tambellini in favor of Alexandre Bolduc and Tanner Glass. But more the Tambo for Glass trade off. Why did he change up what was working so well in Games 1 and 2? Because the Sharks were promising physicality in Game 3? Really?
F**k their physicality. Beat them on the score sheet. Jamie McGinn wants to run guys? Hit him back, but beat them on the score sheet. Tanner Glass, even though he plays minor minutes, needs to ride the pine. I'm sick of his futility and invisibility. At least when CoHo and Tambo are out there you notice them, and they pose more of a scoring threat. Speed kills, AV. You know that.
The loss of Ehrhoff and his 2 goals and 11 points hurts. The loss of Aaron Rome's general stability and physicality is less painful. Adding Keith Ballard and Andrew Alberts takes care of stability and size back there. But somebody else is going to have to step up and put up some points. Salo? His 1 goal and no assists in 12 playoff games is not acceptable. He gets the power play time but is ice cold offensively.

Yeah. I’ve got a cheap guitar and the strings are so damn hard to press down it’s hard to make myself pick it up regularly. Today I tried messing with the truss rod to try and get the neck a little closer, but I am tempted to try shaving down my bridge a bit to try and bring them in a little closer.

For those that don’t know, the HP Pavilion is at 525 West Santa Clara Street, San Jose, CA. They would have been crossing Autumn Street going towards the arena’s main pedestrian entrance, presumably to attend game 3.

Considering how well trying to go bigger worked Game 3 (not at all), the thought of Alberts being a giant turnstile makes me queasy.
About the reffing, who knows? Maybe they’ll relax a bit hoping they got their point across with the Penalty Parades last game.

I think it depends more of the refs: some call it tighter than other jeff patterson had our stat up yesterday compare to who’s reffing and that looks really tilted. And before the conspiracy theory kiks in, and everybody get his tinfoil hat out, I think that “tightness” in reffing or not allows for a game that favors the Canucks -or not.

I’m pretty okay with it if Alberts plays in favour of Tanev. In fact, I hope it’s him and Ballard. I thought he actually had a great playoffs last year and was one of the better defenders against Chicago which was/is a much faster team than SJ. So I’m not worried about him being caught flat footed or undressed by fast fwds. And I like his muscle against their cycle, seeing guys like Raymond get swatted aside was painful to watch.
As far as AV overcoaching and putting in Glass/Bolduc in favour of Tambo/CoHo that’s 6 up, half a dozen down. Didn’t make a difference in that game either way. Personally I thought we should have kept going with what was winning and not dictate our lineup in anticipation of what SJ was doing with theirs but in the end, the 4th line (regardless of who was on it) would end up playing very little that game. For what it’s worth, I thought Bolduc had a pretty strong game, in his very limited role, and did enough to get another look.

If we’re talking resolution-wise it’s all vector based. I did make it, so it’s all entirely scalable up to literally whatever size my computer can handle.
I’m not involved with the site in particular, just this design and the Sarcasmometer one. More options is better, imo, but it may overwhelm people/cost money to list. I don’t know exactly how it works.
