So Ryane Clowe complains about Bieksa "picking his spots" and fighting Marleau, an inferior fighter, but then Clowe also complains that Maxim Lapierre is a "coward" for declining to fight him?
If Bieksa is a mismatch for Marleau, then Clowe is like a gigantic mismatch for Lapierre. At least Marleau is as big or bigger than Bieksa, and Marleau wanted to fight Bieksa just as much (more, actually) than Bieksa wanted to fight Marleau. It's not like Bieksa ran up to Marleau and challeneged him. But Clowe, twice Lapierre's size, did run up to him. He challeneged him (also known as he picked his spot), and then complained of cowardice on Lapierre's part after Lapierre declined.
How does this make any sense? "Hey, Bieksa, you phony, you... stupid, you smelly Mr. stupid, you're a stupid doodoohead (this is how Clowe really talks) for fighting Marleau! That wasn't a fair fight! He's not at your level! I'm calling you out!" "And hey guy-half-my-size named Lapierre, fight me! Or you're a coward and a stupid smellypants too!"
I'm used to the hypocrisy from the Sharks, but somehow this seems different. This is just like, one player, going out on a limb and criticizing something that he didn't need to criticize, but consciously chose to, and then completely contradicting himself. What I'm saying is I'm used to the Sharks desperate logic and hypocrtical comments, but this just seems to be even more ridiculous. Or if not more, it's just equally ridiculous, but in this new even more ridiculous way....
I don't know. But they need to have more respect for themselves than to be spewing all this complete BS. They have a good team over there, and not all their players are like Clowe mentally. They have some good, intelligent people over there too. They just have a few immature hothead children in that locker room like Clowe and Eager who are making all their teammates look bad, and giving their franchise a bad name. They need to have some respect for their teammates, their coach, and all the people who have worked hard to build that franchise and give it a good name (although, Mclellan did choose to keep putting Eager on the ice, so maybe this is just the type of ship they run over there?). Either way, whether it's just Clowe and Eager and a few other bad apples, or whatever the case, It's embarrassing. I still think it's mostly just a few of them. Maybe Mclellan lost his composure a little bit there in the third and stooped to Clowe's level, but in general I think he's a professional, and that that was a one time thing. If i were him I'd just be praying Clowe and Eager would start acting like professionals as well.
Clarification: I'm not saying Ryane Clowe actually is twice as tall and weighs twice as much as Lapierre, just that Clowe is much bigger than him.
