First, love the site it is really well written and informative.
Second, as far as the recent post about Cody Hodgson, I am not sure I understand why the fact that he has not been called up is a sign that the organization is down on him?
At this point, the guy has had a good year in the minors, stayed healthy and has seemed to regain his stride. The guy has not played that much hockey for almost 2 years. At the same time the Canucks are a legit Stanley Cup contender. Calling him up and asking him to fill in for Malhotra seems almost unfair, the guy is not a checking/grinding center who is strong on face-offs and good in the corners - does not seem to be his game.
I think calling him up earlier in the year was a good way to introduce him to NHL hockey and get him ready for next year where he may have to play big minutes from the start of the season - a much easier transition than suddenly to be put into the heat of a Stanley Cup run where if he plays badly it could destroy his confidence. The Detroit Red Wings have always been really good at making sure players have the necessary experience before bringing them up - I have seen the Islanders ruin quite a few prospects by forcing them into untenable situations too soon - the Rangers as well.
Anyway, just my two cents, don't think there is much to the fact that he has not been called up. If he plays well in camp, he will stick - Gillis picked him and has a lot riding on him - if he does not, he will go back down. Seems pretty simple.
