Canucks playoff ready?

Stay connected for news and updates

I've been a lifelong Canucks fan and have watched this team through the good times and not so good times. One thing I've learned is that the Canucks are a team that can be best described as a regular seaon team. Since Vigneault and Co. took over 4 yars ago, the Canucks have been great in the regular season but come playoff time they have fizzled when their best players were checked into submission. My greatest concern is that the second line has been playing so poorly and our 3rd and 4th lines are essentially a mishmash of streaky players. The next few games coming up will be very telling for the Canucks. From here on out they will be essentially playing playoff games as teams are desparate for points. I don't like the attitude of players like Henrik Sedin who said the Canucks played their best game in recent time when they were shut out by the Nashville Predators on home ice. Vigneault needs to start trusting the 4th lines to play double digit minutes as come playoff time, there's no shootout and if the games are tied after 3, the teams play twenty minute periods until someone scores.  It will be interesting to see if the added rest benefits Luongo in the playoffs. In short, I think time will tell if the team is ready but the next few games will give the fans an idea as they will be essentially playoff games.
