I may be a bit off but I believe this will be the 9th time in the last 11 games the Canucks are playing a team that is either barely out of a playoff spot or barely in. Nashville would have dropped to 10th spot had the Wild not lost to the Islanders Wednesday night. The Preds scoreboard watch while the team is in a slump. They have lost 5 of their last 6 games since beating the Canucks on February 17. Gee I didn't know we had that kind of effect on people. Hell, I blame Carrie Underwood. Just because. Also, they have lost 6 of their last 7 road games. Blame Bud Adams?
The Canucks have been playing the win 1 / lose 1 game to perfection since February 7, and they don't seem to be concerned about it. Neither am I. But it would be nice to see a kickass effort from them in their final home game before embarking on a 5 game road trip that at least keeps them in Western North America for the entire 5 games.

quite honestly, I find all teams in the playoff picture, including a few that aren’t, would be challenges for the Canucks, and every other team in the playoffs. Ever series win will be hard fought for western teams.

I think we can both agree on the old (though somewhat crude) saying – “Opinions are like assholes. Everybody’s got one and everyone thinks everyone else’s stinks.”
I will agree to not discuss politics (rarely leads to a good place), but I do find it rather odd that discussing politics (or rather, knocking politicians and political parties) is all fine and dandy while it’s a chorus all aligned one way. Bear in mind, that though some posters may think it’s amusing to bag on a certain party or those who lean a certain way in their political views, it’s likely many more people read the site than post – and it can get VERY tiresome to read such derision. Though I won’t dismiss the possibility that I’m just over-reacting. :p

Its all good.
I hate how it gets off track so fast too. No offense meant or taken. I don’t think people that like the other side are horrible people or anything.
Some things I just don’t get though. Its nothing to do with what the “chorus” says ( and aint that democracy at its heart? The most members of the chorus get the conch shell? ;-)
I bag on things that bother me. Its not derision to point out facts. ( Facts, not spin ) If those facts bother some, hopefully it makes them rethink their vote. I know where mine is going because of things over the last 7 years I cannot stomach.
Bill C-10 for example. May have helped cost me my job and was pure censorship. Harper enacted it after going to a movie at TIFF and getting miffed (Young People Fucking, a harmless comedy with a salacious title ). The fact that he went with an evangelical leader of “Focus on the Family” made me uncomfortable with that kind of access.
I think the vote is the most important right we have. I always ask whenever politics comes up if a person votes. If they say " I don’t have time,bother, doesn’t matter" or whatever, I won’t even discuss it if they want to, and will politely say STFU.
Vote. Whomever its for is fine.
Damn, see how easy it is? That above is just me. Just to give you an idea from “the other side”. Its not because I do not think Mr Harper is not a good man. I just do not agree with much he has done.
