It's Saint Patrick's Day, and (almost) all is right in Canuckland.  So go ahead Canucks fans, drink like you're Frank Gallagher today.  The Canucks have won their 4th division title in 5 years, and pulled off another come from behind victory against a very game Colorado Avalanche squad to seal the deal.  It's not all sunshine & lollipops however, as we await word on Manny Malholtra, who left the game after taking a puck to the face last night.

It wasn't the prettiest of wins, but I like the fact that this team is handling adversity in that calm, collected manner with which they've approached the entire season.  There was no panic in their game after going down 2-0 in the first, and after Maxim Lapierre notched his first as a Canuck in the 2nd, the Canucks stormed out in the 3rd on goals from Alexandre Burrows and 2 from Henrik Sedin wrapped up their 3rd straight NW Division crown.  News has just broken that the Canucks have recalled Victor Oreskovich, so the news on Malholtra can't be that good after going to the hospital last night.

The Canucks have one more game to go on this homestand before hitting the road for 4.  Phoenix has been playing them tough this season, and I would imagine Friday night will be no different.  Look for Roberto Luongo to get the start over birthday boy Cory Schneider.  No other lineup changes expected, though Kevin Bieksa is close to returning and Alex Edler says he's feeling good as he works towards returning to the lineup following back surgery.

Cheese Scones FTW

Huge win for the Leafs last night, as they moved to within 2 points of 9th place Carolina and 4 back of 8th place Buffalo, who have a game in hand on those two.  Washington missed an opportunity to take over the Eastern Conference lead as they fell to the Detroit Red Wings last night... Calgary's playoff aspirations took a hit last night as the Anaheim Ducks won 2-1 over St. Louis.  The Flames are now in 9th because they've played 2 more games than the teams they are chasing as well as Nashville, who sit one point behind... For all the hysterical reactions in the Pacioretty/Chara incident, it seems the Canadiens aren't the only ones with fans crossing the line.  Oh wait, this is a professional journalist?  Pretty classy.  I guess if you can say that, maybe we can say that all Americans believe the Quake and Tsunami in Japan is payback for Pearl Harbour.  Sorry, Canadians think it's great that he's not as severely injured as first thought.  And they say Canucks fans are bad.  I hope these teams meet in the playoffs.  Their fan bases certainly deserve each other... As seen on Puck Daddy this morning, it appears the MJHL knows how to deal with dangerous hits.  Amazing the kid skated off on his own power... Meanwhile, Scott Burnside is still a douchebag...

WAACH 'Cast's Band Of The Day- Children Of Bodom

Their latest album 'Relentless Reckless Forever' has debuted at #42 on Billboard, as the Finnish thrash act prepares to tour North America with yesterday's BOTD The Devin Townsend Band.  Led by Alexei Leiho, their mixture of death-tinged thrash has been winning over more and more converts on this side of the pond...
