ANOTHER one of those games that I am was/am anticipating. The Canucks can really hurt the Flames' chances of making the playoffs if they beat them in regulation. They can hurt their chances now and the ultimate Canucks-Flames game could be the final game of the regular season. Even though Calgary lost their last game 3-0 to the Coyotes on Thursday, they have won 5 of their last 7 and their last 3 in a row at home. Their turnaround has been amazing.
The Canucks have won all 4 games on their current road trip and it has been an amazing spectacle to watch. They continually increase their lead not only for top spot in the West but also top spot in the NHL. Their win over the Sharks was a heart-hurting game to watch but the fact that they pulled out a win while defying the odds of blowing a 2 goal lead, a late 3rd period tying goal by San Jose, a 4 on 3 in OT and then the shootout was impressive because they are still finding ways to win despite their dominance in the standings. I'm blown away. I'm also loving this shit.
DIGEST THIS
-The Canucks have outscored the Flames 17-9 in their 4 meetings this season.
-The Sedins have a combined 7 points against the Flames which is unimpressive compared to:
-Burrows has 3 goals and 4 assists!
-Kesler has 2 goals and 2 assists
-Luongo is 3-0-1 with a 1.96 GAA and .935 save % against the Lames.
-Raymond has 3 goals and 4 assists! He hates the Flames! He HAS to!
-No points and a -6 for Olli Jokinen against us this season.
-Miikka Kiprusoff is 1-3 against the Canucks, a 3.96 GAA and a .880 save %
-Alex Tanguay has 1 goal and is a -5 against us.
-Jarome Iginla has 3 assists but is a -5 against Van
