I've had this game marked on my calendar all season long. I've never hated the Bruins, ever. What a great cast of characters over the years, while I have been alive anyway. Bobby Orr, Phil Esposito, Gerry Cheevers, Johnny Bucyk, Mike Milbury, Brad Park, Cam Neeley, Andy Moog, Rick Middleton, etc etc. The Bruins have not won a Stanley Cup since 1972 and this year they look to make a serious push. Yeah well so do we, assholes. And this is one of the reasons why, even though it's only ONE game, this game is uber important for our Canucks. A win over the Bruins encourages the pundits to realize even more that we are for real.
But it's not going to be easy. Looks at the Bruins' stats above. Nice. Now look at who's rolling for the B's below. Lots of them. The Canucks on the other hand may be getting contributions from line 1 and 3 but not enough from Kesler-(Samuelsson)-Raymond. 2 goals and 2 assists in the last 4 games combined for those 3 players. Samuelsson has 3 of those points. Kesler and Raymond need to get it going. The Bruins are the best team in the NHL 5 on 5. The Canucks are having a hard time drawing penalties (with PP being a huge strength) lately due to decreased effort 5 on 5.
A preview of the Cup Finals? Maybe. More like the Canucks facing a tremendous team and needing to make a statement, in my opinion. No use looking too far ahead.
Since November 2003, the Bruins have won 3 of 5 against the Canucks. 5 games? A tilt between these 2 teams is a damned rarity. Another reason why it's circled on my calendar.

-Canucks' Super Skills Competition is on Sunday.
-Kaberle does not have a point as a Bruin yet but B's believe he will take them to the next level. Gonna be so weird watching Tomas play in a jersey that is not of Toronto.
-A lot of praise for Tanner Glass. (Vancouver Sun)
